LSK engaged one of the most respected loudspeaker designers in the industry, which means you can now enjoy high end performance at a very affordable price. The new drivers and matching crossover are the secret to a major step up in sound. This is a dramatic improvement over speakers of similar size and price. Many existing 4" speaker projects have some cone breakup that can be resolved in the crossover. All mids, especially budget ones, exhibit this problem when the cone no longer operates as a perfect piston, and you can see a peak in the frequency response, the result is a forwardness in the sound.
