Coaxial refers to the application of having the tweeter mounted centrally in the same driver mechanism as the mid-woofer. This offers a convenient solution for a compact box design utilizing a smaller facia without the additional tweeter mounting. Being mounted "Inside" the woofer also improves acoustic performance with optimal time delay between the drivers and offer the advantages of a single point source for a consistent acoustic center and a symmetrical dispersion pattern. SB Acoustics coaxial drivers require an external crossover network.
